PAP Innovation In Design All engineers who work at PAP have one common goal; this is to design paramotors that preserve, as much as possible, the flying characteristics of the paragliders we fly. Every single PAP paramotor carries with it over 15 years of development and innovation in the field of powered paragliding. This has taken PAP to a world-leading position in the manufacture of paramotors. We only use high quality materials, components and processes.
At present our paramotors are produced in Spain in the Marbella-Parapente factory located in Estepona (Malaga) and in the facilities of our partner Guac Motor in Catalonia. This infrastructure distributed in two plants has allowed us to reach a production of 40 units a month. Each machine being made by hand.

HistoryThe first PAP paramotor was designed by Pierre Aubert at the end of 1989. Pierre began to fly in 1986 and by that time he settled in Marbella, Spain. A little later he had a first contact with the then emerging sport of powered paragliding in France. The first motors seen then had a high hang-point and were in general, not very comfortable to fly/pilot. This was what made Pierre design his own Paramotor with a low hang-point more similar to what he was used to in free flight. PAP was born.
This new design featuring a low hang-point, which offered a feeling closer to free flight’s, was a great innovation. That, together with the attraction of this new sport and the interest from the PG professionals in Spain, helped the beginning of the company founded by Pierre Aubert, Marbella Parapente S.L. The first generation of paramotors was named after the motor used, CORSAIR.
From 1994 and due to the growing number of orders for PAP paramotors, Pierre began to dedicate exclusively to develop his models. By 2001 the demand was so high that the long waiting lists had a delay of three months. Then, one of PAP’s impatient clients, David Bretones suggested to Pierre to make a franchise of the brand in Barcelona to widen the production and thus stop losing orders. After further in-depth discussions, Guac Motor S.L. was born in February 2002, a PAP factory located in Castelldefels (Catalonia) that produced 10 paramotors in its first month of work. PAP has led the world in paramotor design, with many innovative design features that have been copied by other manufacturers. When you fly a PAP paramotor for some hours, there is a slow dawning of why they are the number one brand. It can be summed by PAP's unique attention to detail, in both design and build quality that no other manufacturer has. Ask any PAP pilot and they will tell you.
